Scholastica Maths Club Achievements 2021

Vieta’s Theorem: The first topic we covered this time around was Vieta’s Theorem. Vieta’s formula relates the coefficients of polynomials to the sums and products of their roots, as well as the products of the roots taken in groups. For some problems, Vieta’s formula can serve as a shortcut to finding solutions quickly knowing the sums or products of their roots

Binomial Theorem: In elementary algebra, the binomial theorem (or binomial expansion) describes the algebraic expansion of powers of a binomial.

Arithmatic and Geometric Progression: The third topic we covered was Arithmatic and Geometric progression. In mathematics, arithmetico–geometric sequence is the result of term-by-term multiplication of a geometric progression with the corresponding terms of an arithmetic progression.

Monthly Olympiads: After covering all aspects of the topics stated above we took Olympiads to test the students’ understanding

Honorary Leaders: This year, the concept of honorary leaders was introduced, where younger students were given the opputunity to step and experience what it felt like to be part of the managing body of the club.

This year we also celebrated Durga Puja and Eid Milad-un-Nabi
