SIDC: Scholastica inter-school Dance Competition

This year Scholastica Dance Club hosted its first ever Inter School Dance Competition. This event was a collaboration with Scholastica Community Service Club . The competition had three rounds . Overall we had 56 participants from 16 different schools. Out of the 56 participants, Square One’s executive leaders and Ms. Shammi Yeasmin Jhinuk, chose 20 participants for the second round. The second round was theme based where the participants were asked to innovate a dance video that contributes to the 1980s-90s. Once again we chose our 5 finalists for the final round. 

The Grand Finale was hosted by Fantasir Abdullah Khan and Labiba Noor who are respective students of Scholastica along with our reputed judges for the final round:

 Mr. Hasan Ishtiaque Imran and Ms.Maria Farih Upama. The Finale was streamed live on Facebook where the judges and the participants interacted about the performances. The Grand Finale began with a speech from our respective Principal Ms. Nurun Nahar Mozumdar and our very special Chief Guest Ms. Laila Hassan. With great pleasure our winners were announced within 2 days. Our Second Runners Up : Argha Saha ( Aga Khan School) , First Runners Up: Abritti Mondol (Mastermind), and Champion: Afia Ibnat Halim  (Scholastica, Uttara).

 Our Technology team has played a big role in conducting the finale , with all the recording and streaming. The certificates and posters were designed by our Graphics team. The Documentation team had managed all the information and updates of the participants and the forms. Finally, the Public Relations team who were in charge of communicating with the participants and their queries and posting updates on social media. Overall the event was a huge success , we got overwhelming responses from participants, which was way more than we expected.
